“Dhadpe Pohe” – A special Maharashtrian recipe made of Poha (flattened rice), fresh coconut, green chillies and ginger. A mouth-melting recipe for breakfast or snacks time!
Poha (Avalakki/Flattened Rice Flakes) – 2 cups
Fresh coconut (grated) – 1 cup
Green chillies – 4
Ginger – 2 pieces
Coriander – ¼ cup
Salt to taste
Oil – ½ cup
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Urad dal – ¼ tsp
Jeera seeds – ¼ tsp
Milk – 2 tsp
Curry leaves – 6
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Hing – a hint!
Take a blender – add ginger, green chillies & coriander. Grind it nicely. Do not add water
For seasoning, heat the oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal & roast till they turn brown. Add jeera & curry leaves. Lastly add hing & turmeric powder to it. Allow it to cool down
In a big vessel, take poha, add freshly grated coconut & green chilly – ginger – coriander mix. Mix these ingredients well with hand
Add seasoning to it & mix it very well
Sprinkle milk at the last & mix the poha again to make them little soft
