Panchakajjaya is an offering made to Lord Ganesha during Ganesh Chaturthi festival. As the name says, it is prepared with 5 Ingredients.
We usually make Panchakajjaya with Roasted Bengal gram powder, Grated dry coconut, Sesame seeds, Sugar & Cardamom powder. Optionally, you can replace few ingredients with Fried poha (Avalakki), Cashews or Dried dates (uttatti).
Ingredients:
Roasted Bengal gram – 1 cup
Dried coconut (grated) – 2 tsp
Sesame seeds (roasted)– 2 tsp
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Fried Poha – 2 tsp (optional)
Dried dates (Uttatti, chopped) – 1 tsp (optional)
Sugar – ½ cup
Method of Preparation:
Grind roasted Bengal gram along with sugar into fine powder
Add grated dried coconut, cardamom powder, sesame seeds , fried poha & dried dates. Give it a nice stir
